Men's Basketball's Pritchard Earns MAC Player of the Week Honor

Junior Anthony Pritchard averages averaged 20.5 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 7.0 assists per game in CMU’s two weekly victories over Miami (OH) and Western Michigan.
CLEVELAND, Ohio—Central Michigan junior Anthony Pritchard was named the Mid-American Conference Men's Basketball co-Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday afternoon.
In leading Central Michigan to three consecutive wins and back-to-back weekly victories over Miami (OH) and Western Michigan, Pritchard averaged 20.5 points, 7.5 boards, and 7.0 assists per game, and 2.0 steals per contest, while shooting 15-of-26 (.577) from the floor and 11-of-14 (.786) from the free throw line. In a 62-55 victory at Western Michigan on Saturday, Pritchard scored a season, game and career-high 23 points on 9-15 shooting, 5-5 FTs, registered a team-high eight rebounds and six assists, and finished with three steals. In a 72-55 home win over Miami (OH), he scored a game-high 18 points (6-11 FG), converted 6-9 free throws, grabbed seven rebounds and dished out eight assists.
Pritchard is CMU's second MAC Player of the Week honoree this year as Brian Taylor earned the award on December 27, 2023.
Through 20 games, Pritchard leads the Chippewas in scoring (14.5 ppg.), assists (97), field goals made (112), free throws made (54), steals (35), and points (290). He ranks second on the squad in rebounding (5.2) and minutes played (33.3).
Riding a three-game win streak, Central Michigan (11-9, 6-2 MAC) hosts Northern Illinois on Tuesday. Tipoff is at 7 p.m. ET.
A Tulsa, Okla. native, Pritchard is a Community Development/Community Services major.
