Internal group of athletic department representatives will guide Central Michigan’s NIL efforts; Name, Image, and Likeness support is critical in the ever-changing world of college athletics.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—CMU Athletics has created an NIL Task Force within its athletic department structure to provide proactive facilitation of Name, Image, and Likeness opportunities for Chippewa sports programs and student-athletes. This group will serve as a point of contact for the community, student-athletes, prospective donors, and businesses who want to support NIL activities at CMU.
The Task Force includes Chris Walker, Deputy Director of Athletics for External Operations; Kelly Berryhill, Associate Athletic Director for Development; Zach Lowe, Assistant Athletic Director for Compliance, and Travis Downing, Assistant Athletic Director of Student-Athlete Leadership and Development.
"In this ever-evolving landscape, this team will provide support and information to our many businesses, donors, and community members looking to get involved in various Name, Image, and Likeness programs for our student-athletes," Zyzelewski Family Vice President/Director of Athletics Amy Folan said. "We believe that each of these NIL opportunities embody the spirit and commitment of the CMU community and provide a way to show support for our talented student-athletes."
Central Michigan Athletics has a variety of associated Name, Image, and Likeness programs available to businesses, fans, donors, and community members to help support its student-athletes. These programs have been endorsed by CMU Athletics in order to facilitate contact between community members and its student-athletes.

The NCAA has created a website NILassist to assist its student-athletes in navigating Name, Image, and Likeness. That site is located at this link.
Listed below are a variety of programs and ways that Central Michigan fans, donors and others can get involved in Name, Image, and Likeness initiatives to support Chippewas student-athletes:
CHIPPEWA NIL FUND | CMU LINK | GENERAL WEBSITE
Charitable Gift America hosts the Chippewa NIL Fund, created to empower Central Michigan University student-athletes to make a positive impact on communities and charities close to their hearts while utilizing their Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL). All student-athletes engaged in NIL contracts with CGA contribute 5 percent of their contract to the charitable cause of their choice. Supporting this opportunity will allow donors to change the game for their players, charitable organizations, and CMU Athletics, all at the same time. Contributions of all amounts are welcomed, allowing CMU fans to pool their contributions and make a significant community impact with NIL agreements for their student-athletes.
OPENDORSE | CMU LINK | GENERAL WEBSITE
Businesses, fans, and donors can support their selected student-athletes through Opendorse. Opendorse is a leading athlete marketplace and NIL technology company. The company serves the full lifecycle of supporting athletes: educating, assessing, planning, sharing, creating, measuring, tracking, disclosing, regulating, listing, browsing, booking, and more. The company's industry-leading NIL solutions help athletes, and their supporters understand, build, protect, and monetize their brand value.
INFLUXER | CMU LINK | GENERAL WEBSITE
Influxer, an NIL company, presents a co-licensed NIL merchandise deal to all of our student-athletes. The platform features free activation. Multiple lines of merchandise will be sold via their e-commerce platform, influxermerch.com, and the majority of gross profit will be distributed back to the student-athletes based on the sales of each athlete's individual merch. This is a great way to support CMU student-athletes by wearing each student-athletes' merch and supporting their NIL.
In addition, each sport has its own NIL-related program. Please contact the respective sports programs for more information.
