Women's Cross Country Ranked 12th Regionally in USTFCCCA Preseason Poll

CMU opens the Cross Country Season on Aug. 30 at Shepherd High School
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Central Michigan Women's Cross Country has been ranked 12th in the NCAA Division I Great Lakes Region Preseason Poll, the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Association (USTFCCCA) announced on Monday.
Per the USTFCCCA, rankings are determined by one member coach in each respective region, measuring returning team's prospects and current season results to determine rankings in member programs.
The Chippewas are among five other Mid-American Conference schools in the rankings and lead Bowling Green (14th) and Western Michigan (15th).
The Chippewas return seniors Emily Paupore, who became the first CMU women's cross country MAC Champion at Bowling Green in 2023, Natalie Newcombe, and Jelena Prescott, all leading the charge for the Chippewa runners.
CMU will put the ranking to the test when it opens the season at the 39th Annual Jeff Drenth Memorial on Aug. 30 at the Shepherd High School Cross Country Course.
