Central Michigan, Andy Bronkema sign first member of the 2026 recruiting class.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—The Central Michigan men's basketball program has signed high school senior forward Jake Bascom (Rockford, Mich./Rockford H.S.) to a National Letter of Intent during the November signing period, Head Coach Andy Bronkema announced on Thursday morning.
Bascom becomes the first member of Central Michigan's incoming 2026 recruiting class. He will enroll at Central Michigan in June 2026. Central Michigan's new staff has strong ties with its first 2025-26 recruit.
"Rockford has been a top team in the state and Jake has been coached well by Kyle Clough," Bronkema said. "He plays for one of the top AAU programs in Michigan with coach Jason Martin. Michigan high school basketball has so many pockets of great teams and players, West Michigan being one of them, and a pipeline for us. We are excited about the whole Bascom family. What they stand for fits Central Michigan. It will allow us to coach Jake with great accountability and therefore I'm confident he will develop into his full potential."
