MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – Student-athletes Alex Cramer and Allie Korba are Central Michigan's 2025 Mid-American Conference Medal of Excellence recipients.

Cramer, a CMU wrestler, and Korba, a volleyball player, were honored along with two student-athletes from each of the MAC's 11 other institutions at the MAC Honors Dinner on Thursday at the Cleveland Marriott Downtown at Key Tower.

The Medal of Excellence goes annually to two student-athletes, one male and one female, from each fulltime MAC member. The selected student-athlete is the personification of ideal student-athlete, one who excels both in his or her athletic field as well as the classroom, and is a leader among their peers.

Korba graduated magna cum laude in May with a bachelor of science degree after majoring in political science. A native of Arlington Heights, Ill., Korba became the first Chippewa volleyball player to earn the MAC Setter of the Year Award last fall after leading the Chippewas to a 24-7 finish including 15-3 (second) in the MAC.

She is a four-time member of the Dean's List, serves as the Student-Athletic Advisory Committee president, and plans to pursue her juris doctor.

Cramer is a four-time NCAA Wrestling Championships qualifier and two-time MAC champion who was twice named to the CMU President's List and once to the Dean's List.

He closed his career with a 106-51 career record, and he is one of 28 wrestlers in program history in the 100-win club. He is a three-time Academic All-MAC honoree and in 2024 was named a Third Team Academic All-American.

He holds a bachelor of science degree and a master's degree, both in computer science, earning the latter in May and graduating with a 3.84 grade point average.
