RALEIGH, N.C. – Rachel Niskanen shot a 2-over par 74 on Sunday to lead the Central Michigan women's golf team during the opening round of the City of Oaks Collegiate at Lonnie Poole Golf Course.

Niskanen, a junior from Negaunee, is tied for sixth, three shots behind leader Frances Kim of Boston College, who opened with a 1-under 71. The field comprises 73 players.

The second round is scheduled for 8 a.m. Monday and the third and final round of the 54-hole event is set for Tuesday (8:30 a.m.).

Niskanen led the Chippewas to a 308 team score. They are in eighth place in the 13-team field, three shots behind seventh-place Rutgers and 12 back of first-place North Carolina State, the host team. The Wolfpack is ranked 44^th nationally.

Also for CMU on Sunday, Lexi Schulman shot a 5-over 77, Ella Zanatta posted a 78, Zoe Dull shot 79, and Brooke Morris carded an 82.

Schulman is tied for 25^th, Zanatta is tied for 38^th, Dull is tied for 46^th, and Morris is tied for 62^nd.
