Chippewa Cross Country Announces 2026 Schedule; Drenth Memorial Sept. 4

The 41st Annual Jeff Drenth Memorial starts the 2025 season in Shepherd, Mich.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Central Michigan Cross Country opens the 2026 season with the 41st Annual Jeff Drenth Memorial Sept. 4, the first of four meets ahead of the Mid-American Conference Championships (Oct. 30).
The Chippewas will visit MAC rival Western Michigan for the George Dales Classic (Sept. 18) before traveling to Notre Dame for the Joe Piane Invite (Oct. 2). South Indiana's Pre Nationals Meet (Oct. 16) will be the Chippewas' final tune-up before the MAC Championships, hosted by Western Michigan.
The NCAA postseason begins with the Great Lakes Regionals (Nov. 13) ahead of the NCAA Championships (Nov. 21) each hosted by Indiana State in Terre Haute, Ind.
The CMU women claimed a fourth-place finish in last season's MAC Championship, its best team performance since 2016; the men finished seventh.
