Central Michigan Announces 2026-27 Men's Basketball Schedule

Schedule features 15 home games; MAC announces 22-game men’s basketball league schedule; MAC schedule to feature two games apiece against each MAC opponent.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich.—Featuring a 15-game home schedule, a 22-game conference schedule, and non-conference games at Arkansas, Notre Dame, and Pittsburgh, Central Michigan announced its entire 2026-27 men's basketball schedule on Wednesday morning. Tipoff times, television appearances, and broadcast dates will be announced later. Schedule and dates are subject to change due to television decisions.
"Each program has unique scheduling needs and we are confident that our schedule this year has a mix of everything we need to be playing our best basketball down the stretch," Central Michigan head coach Andy Bronkema said. "The double round robin league schedule has everyone coming to McGuirk Arena so fans can look forward to seeing every matchup."
Central Michigan will play each of its 11 Mid-American Conference opponents twice on a home-and-home basis. The Chippewas' 15 home games include their home opener vs. Alma (Friday, Nov. 6), Youngstown State (Tuesday, Nov. 10), Ohio (Saturday, Dec. 5), Kent State (Wednesday, Dec. 9), UM-Dearborn (Tuesday, Dec. 29), Toledo (Saturday, Jan. 2), Bowling Green (Tuesday, Jan. 5), Buffalo (Tuesday, Jan. 12), Western Michigan (Saturday, Jan. 23), Massachusetts (Tuesday, Feb. 2), the second MAC-SBC Challenge vs. an opponent to be announced later (Saturday, Feb. 6), Eastern Michigan (Tuesday, Feb. 9), Miami, Ohio (Saturday, Feb. 20), Akron (Tuesday, March 2), and Ball State (Friday, March 5).
The Chippewas will host one exhibition game vs. Saginaw Valley State on Sunday, Oct. 18 at 3 p.m. An Alumni Game is scheduled to be played before the Saginaw Valley State game at noon at McGuirk Arena.
Non-conference road games will be played at Louisiana-Monroe for the season opener in the MAC-SBC Challenge (Monday, Nov. 2), at Northern Kentucky (Saturday, Nov. 14), at Dayton (Tuesday, Nov. 17), at Pittsburgh (Friday, Nov. 20), at Notre Dame (Tuesday, Nov. 24), and at Arkansas (Tuesday, Dec. 22).
Scheduled road MAC road games are the MAC opener at Miami, Ohio (Wednesday, Dec. 2), at Eastern Michigan (Saturday, Dec. 12), at Ball State (Saturday, Jan. 9), at Massachusetts (Saturday, Jan. 16), at Akron (Tuesday, Jan. 19), at Toledo (Tuesday, Jan. 26), at Kent State (Saturday, Jan. 30), at Ohio (Saturday, Feb. 13), at Buffalo (Tuesday, Feb. 16), at Bowling Green (Tuesday, Feb. 23), and at Western Michigan (Saturday, Feb. 27).
The Mid-American Conference Championship is slated for Thursday, March 11 through Saturday, March 13 at Rocket Arena in Cleveland, Ohio.
CMU men's basketball season tickets will go on sale later in August.
