CMU Athletics Successfully Completes Maroon & Gold BOLD Campaign, Raising $26.2 Million

Historic fundraising effort strengthens student-athlete success, enhances fan experience, and positions CMU Athletics for the future.
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. –Central Michigan University Athletics has successfully completed its ambitious Maroon & Gold BOLD Campaign, raising $26.2 million to surpass its original $25 million fundraising goal Zyzelewski Family Vice President/Director of Athletics Amy Folan announced.
The campaign, publicly launched in April 2024, is the most successful fundraising initiative in Central Michigan Athletics history. It has generated transformational funding support for more than 400 student-athletes to support scholarships, leadership programs and holistic care, to elevate all 17 sports programs, to enhance the fan experience, to upgrade facilities and to strengthen CMU's position as a leader in the Mid-American Conference.
"The completion of the Maroon & Gold BOLD Campaign is a milestone moment for Central Michigan Athletics," Folan said. "Thanks to the extraordinary generosity of our alumni, fans, friends, and community supporters, we not only achieved our goal but exceeded it, creating lasting opportunities for current and future Chippewas. The success of the campaign is indicative of the deep pride so many have for CMU and their belief in the power of athletics to transform lives."
Throughout the campaign, donors made impactful investments that aligned with their passions and priorities. More than 3,000 donors made gifts during Maroon & Gold BOLD, including five gifts of more than $1,000,000 and 20 of more than $100,000.
"The overwhelming support for Maroon & Gold BOLD showcases what is possible when members of the CMU family unite behind a common vision', said CMU Vice President for Advancement Jennifer Cotter. "We are grateful to every donor who invested in the future of our student-athletes and helped position Central Michigan Athletics for continued success. As a five-year initiative, Maroon & Gold BOLD also serves as an important component of the university's upcoming comprehensive campaign, which is focused on enriching CMU's legacy and forging its future."
