Cristy Freese Field Facts |
Cristy Freese Field opened in 2005 and was dedicated to its namesake in 2019. Freese served as the field hockey head coach at CMU for 29 seasons and is the winningest head coach in program history.
The facility was upgraded with the installation of permanent seating in 2008, allowing for a more fan-friendly viewing experience.
In August 2018, a new turf and watering system was installed. The turf was recently named a Global certified field by the International Hockey Federation.
The Chippewas' field hockey complex has an internationally approved water-based AstroTurf field, while the turf bay in the IAC also is at the program's disposal for year-round conditioning and workouts.
CMU's field is located within walking distance of the state-of-the-art Indoor Athletic Complex, which features a spacious locker room, the Dick Enberg Academic Center, large team meeting room and 7,100-square-foot weight room.
Service animals only are permitted in the facility.
