CMU Honors Scholar-Athletes of the Week

Central Michigan University has selected Jordan Webster (wrestling) and Katie Davis (track and field) as CMU Scholar-Athletes of the Week. Candidates for CMU Scholar-Athletes of the Week must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher and are selected based on athletic performance the previous week. Here are this week's honorees and their credentials:

Davis took second place in the shot put at the Chippewas' triangular meet with Notre Dame and Michigan State. She had a throw of 46-10 1/4. Katie also took third in the weight throw with a toss of 48-7 1/4.

Webster went 3-0 last weekend as CMU competed at the National Duals. The No. 15 ranked Webster defeated Ricky LaForge of Hofstra, ranked eighth nationally, in his first match of the day, 3-1. In his second match, Webster defeated Tony Greathouse of Michigan State 4-1. In his final match, the senior defeated Mimi Miller of Oklahoma 10-8 in overtime. In the match against Miller, Webster trailed the entire match until gaining a takedown with less then 10 seconds remaining to tie the match. Webster is now 16-2 this season.
