Bozin, Sidlauskas Named CMU Student-Athlete of the Week

Central Michigan University has selected track and field athletes Jackie Bozin and Mike Sidlauskas as CMU Scholar-Athletes of the Week. Candidates for CMU Scholar-Athletes of the Week must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher and are selected based on athletic performance the previous week. Here are this week's honorees and their credentials:

Bozin led the way for the Chippewas at the Red Simmon's Invitational by taking two top three finishes in jumping competitions. She took second in the high jump by clearing the bar at 5-8 and finished third in the long jump with a leap of 18-3. She provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championship in the high jump by clearing 5-10 in the season-opening meet.

Sidlauskas finished in first place in the weight throw at the Central Collegiate Conference Championships last weekend. The Sparta native threw 17.32 meters (56-10). He was also eighth in the shot put with a 13.28m (43-6 3/4). |
