Storck, Bolyard Named CMU Scholar-Athletes

Central Michigan University has selected Amanda Storck (track and field) and David Bolyard (wrestling) as CMU Scholar-Athletes of the Week. Candidates for CMU Scholar-Athletes of the Week must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher and are selected based on athletic performance the previous week. Amanda Storck took first place in the pole vault at the Central Collegiates last weekend. Her 12-5 1/2 effort helped the Chippewas to a second-place finish at the event. They fell to Big Ten-foe Michigan, topping last year's Mid-American Conference indoor champions Eastern Michigan.

Bolyard scored two MAC dual victories as he helped the Chippewa wrestling team get off to a 2-0 start in conference action. The No. 6-ranked Bolyard got the weekend started off with a 9-5 decision over NIU's Alex Nelson. Bolyard rounded out the action last weekend by pinning the No. 10-ranked J.J. Thompson of Eastern Michigan in 3:05.
