Two Teams To Be Recognized

Mount Pleasant--The Central Michigan University men's cross country team and women's field hockey team will be recognized at two different men's basketball games for their accomplishments during the 2002 season.
The cross country team will be introduced during halftime of the men's basketball game on February 19, while the field hockey team will be introduced during halftime of the men's basketball game on February 25. Both men's basketball games begin at 7 p.m.
Head coach Craig Fuller led the cross country team to a MAC Championship while being named the Mid-American Conference "Coach of the Year' and USCCCA Great Lakes Region "Coach of the Year."
Tristen Perlberg and Jake Flynn earned All-American honors while Flynn and Jacob Crowe were named Academic All-MAC.
The field hockey team finished MAC Champions in 2002.
Head coach Christy Freese was named MAC "Coach of the Year" while Janel Spero garnered MAC "Player of the Year" honors.
Named to the All-MAC team were Jeanette Spero (first team), Kristy Reed (first team), Janel Spero (first team), and Jocelyn Gates (second team). Earning Academic All-MAC honors were Michelle Fogle, Meg Lewis, and Kristy Reed.
