Lanctot Resigns Post At CMU
Feb. 22, 2001
MOUNT PLEASANT - Central Michigan University Associate Athletics Director Jay Lanctot has announced his resignation, effective March 2.
Lanctot, who has been at CMU since April of 1984, has taken a job with Varsity Gold, a high school athletic fund raising company based in Arizona. Lanctot will remain in Mount Pleasant, though.
"Jay has been a valuable employee who will be missed," said Athletics Director Herb Deromedi. "He's had a distinguished impact on Central Michigan athletics starting with his days in sports information to his most recent work as an associate athletics director."
Lanctot started as an assistant sports information director and in 1986 became the Chippewa Club Director. In 1988, he became an assistant AD for fundraising and business before taking charge of games and events management, facilities and camps in 1990.
Lanctot became an associate AD in 1995 and has been the director of the Indoor Athletic Complex (IAC) since 1999.
Handling Lanctot's duties initially will be Clint Huhn and Diane Craven.
