Central Michigan University has selected Erin Kuhl (women's basketball) and Jason Mester (wrestling) as CMU Scholar-Athletes of the Week. Candidates for CMU Scholar-Athletes of the Week must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher and are selected based on athletic performance the previous week. Erin Kuhl averaged 14.5 points and 3.5 assists in two games last week. She helped the Chippewas bag their first conference win with 15 points against Akron last Wednesday and tallied 14 points against Miami on Saturday. Her shooting average for the two games was .438 but her average upped to 50 percent from behind the arc.

Jason Mester helped the Chippewas clinch the MAC regular-season crown with two wins over the weekend. He picked up a major decision over Ohio's Jon Spires, 12-4, on Friday and defeated Kent State's Nate Daugherty with a technical fall, 17-0, on Sunday. Mester improved his record to 26-2 on the season.
