March 12, 2002
MOUNT PLEASANT -- Central Michigan University Athletics Director Herb Deromedi announced the hiring of Nick Williams as Assistant Athletics Director/Marketing.
Williams served as the Chippewa Club director for the past three years. His new role will include coordinating marketing and sponsorships and overseeing ticketing.
"Nick is well qualified for this position based on his background and his long-standing relationship with Central Michigan University," Deromedi said. "He was a student-athlete at CMU and has great pride in our university."
Williams was a catcher on the CMU baseball team for four years, earning second team All-MAC honors in 1995 and serving as a captain in 1996.
Prior to heading up the Chippewa Club, the Hastings native was an administrative assistant for the American Baseball Coaches Association for three and a half years following graduation from CMU.
"I'm excited to get going on this opportunity to be a part of CMU athletics," Williams said. "Hopefully, I can do things to make a difference in a new area. I'm excited for the chance to work with the coaches and elevate their programs."
Williams and his wife, Marnie, live in Mount Pleasant with their 2-year-old daughter, Jayden.
