Sobeck and Jones Named CMU Scholar-Athletes of the Week

A pair of Diamond Chippewas have been named Central Michigan University's "Scholar-Athletes of the Week." Softball player Christin Sobeck and baseball player J.T. Jones have been tabbed for their efforts on the field and in the classroom.

Sobeck hit .415 (17-for-41) in CMU's 14 games in Florida last week. She tallied six doubles, two triples and three home runs while driving in nine runs. Sobeck tallied a hit in 10 of the 14 games and she tied a school record with two triples against Providence on March 8.
 J.T. Jones hit .423 in seven games last week.  |

Jones hit .423 (11-for-26) in seven games last week. He scored a team-high 11 runs and tallied two doubles and five RBI. Jones walked five times and stole one base. He went 3-for-4 with a double in one of the games at UNLV.
