Women's Letterwinner Celebration
Women's Letterwinners,
We are working diligently to complete our plans for the Letterwinner Celebration scheduled for October 14, 2000 on the Central Michigan University campus. The event will take place at the new Indoor Athletic Complex (IAC), located between Rose Center and Kelly/Shorts Stadium on Broomfield Road, west of Mission Street.
The event has been planned to recognize and honor the women student-athletes who competed on our varsity sports teams prior to 1985 and were never awarded a chenille varsity "C" letter. The letterwinners will be honored with a dinner and the presentation of their letter. Each letterwinner in attendance will be called up on stage to receive her varsity letter from her coach, if in attendance, or from a current CMU staff person. The schedule of events will be as follows:

We would like your assistance with the following:
1. If you have uniform jerseys, memorabilia, pictures, etc., from your career in CMU athletics, please put your name on them and bring them with you to display during the reception and dinner. You will get them back that night, following the event.
2. Write a maximum 100-word paragraph (use 8 1/2 x 11" paper for uniformity) that briefly describes your most memorable moment in CMU athletics, what your athletics experience meant to you or anything about yourself. Note at the bottom (not within 100 words), your name, graduation year/years of participation and sport(s) played at CMU. We will assemble these for distribution at the event. (Name tags will also reflect years and sports played). Please mail this with your reply.
3. Based on the number in attendance we will be taking 8x10 sport or decade pictures for purchase by you at $10 each. Money will be collected that night and photos will be mailed to your following the event.
4. We will sell commemorative sweatshirts for $20 each. You may place your order on the enclosed form and return it. Sweatshirts may be picked up on October 14 at the event.
5. Motel List: We do not have a home football game that weekend but casino patronage is quite busy on the weekends. Don't put off making your plans. E-mail Marcy Weston at marcy.weston@cmich.edu and we'll send a motel list.
6. Dinner Guests: $25 each. Each letterwinner's dinner will be compliments of CMU Athletics. Guests (adults or children) in attendance for dinner will be charged $25 each.
7. Program Guests: No charge. Guests who would like to attend the Letterwinner Presentation at 8 p.m., will be admitted at no cost and will be seated in the track seating area above floor level. No RSVP is necessary for those guests.
