Fanfest To Launch Saturday's Activities
April 26, 2002
MOUNT PLEASANT -- The weekend is typically when fans come out and show their support for the CMU athletes. This Saturday, April, 27, the athletes will show their appreciation for their fans.
Fanfest is an opportunity for fans to get to know the athletes off the field or court. The interactive event will be in the turf bay of the Indoor Athletic Complex and lasts from 10 a.m. to noon.
The event is open to the public and is free. In the turf bay, there will be free food, giveaways and an opportunity to meet the student-athletes. Attendees will also be able to play soccer, basketball, field hockey, run an obstacle course as well as take a leaping chance at the high jump.
The celebration continues after Fanfest as the brand new Theunissen Stadium dedication ceremonies begin at 12:30 p.m. The Chippewas will then take on the Northern Illinois Huskies in a conference doubleheader at 1 p.m. Admission to the game is $4 for adults and $3 for youths.
