Central Michigan University finished in the top 25 percent of Division I schools in the country in the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) Director's Cup.
The Chippewas, second in the Mid-American Conference (behind Kent State) and third in the state of Michigan (behind Michigan and Michigan State), finished 77th among the 318 Division I schools in the rankings of the top overall athletic programs in the country.
"Finishing in the top 25 percent is indicative of a strong showing by our student-athletes, coaches, and the teams they represent," said Herb Deromedi, CMU's AD.
The Chippewas finished ahead of teams from the Big 12, Big East, and Southeastern Conference.
CMU's best finish ever was a tie for 74th in 1998-99.
Leading the way was men's cross country with a ninth-place finish in the NCAA Championships.
