Annual PohlCat Benefit Set For July 24

MOUNT PLEASANT--Plans are set for the ninth annual PohlCat Benefit that is slated for Monday, July 24, at the PohlCat Championship Golf Course.
The annual event includes a golf outing with a dinner and auction that follows. The PohlCat will showcase its new clubhouse by hosting the dinner and auction.
In the first eight years, the PohlCat Benefit has donated over $370,000 to several local organizations including the Central Michigan University Chippewa Club, Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Isabella County, Isabella County 4-H Horse Leaders Association, Central Michigan Community Hospital, American Red Cross and the Mount Pleasant Parks and Recreation junior golf program.
Some of the participating celebrity golfers include event host Dan Pohl, former CMU and New York Yankee baseball player Tom Tresh and CMU head men's basketball coach Jay Smith.
Included in the events will be a million dollar shootout sponsored by CenturyTel. Corporate sponsorship opportunities and player spots are still available. Registration starts at 9 a.m., and the golf begins at 10 a.m.
