Sept. 11, 2002
MOUNT PLEASANT--Central Michigan University athletics director Herb Deromedi announced the hiring of Tera Albrecht as Champs/Life Skills Coordinator.
Albrecht served as the Assistant Director of Athletic Academic Services for one year at Western Michigan University and as the academics intern at CMU for one year.
"I'm excited to be back where I started and went to school," said Albrecht. "I'm looking forward to helping the athletes succeed outside of the playing field."
Her primary responsibilities include assisting the athletes in community outreach, leadership development, career planning, and personal development. Albrecht will also organize and oversee the tutor/study table program, and supervise student workers and the academic center located in the Indoor Athletic Complex.
"My goals are to involve the athletes and help them earn the recognition in various volunteer awards," said Albrecht. "I'd like us to win the Program of Excellence award again."
Albrecht earned her bachelor's degree from CMU in 1999, and completed her course work for a master's degree in sports administration in May of 2001.
Albrecht joins the staff of Pat Podoll and Deb McAlpin in academics.
