Reynolds and Davis Named CMU Scholar-Athletes of the Week

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Central Michigan University Athletics has named senior volleyball player Melissa Reynolds (Port Huron) and senior cross country runner Jeff Davis (Temperance) "CMU Scholar-Athletes of the Week."
In her only match last week, Reynolds posted 22 kills, three digs, and two blocks in helping CMU to a five-game win over Marshall. She averaged 4.4 kills per game in the match. Reynolds is second on the team with a season average of 3.16 kills per game.
Reynolds sports a 3.19 grade point average with an education major.

Davis led CMU to a ninth-place finish at the Pre-NCAA meet at Northern Iowa last weekend. The senior finished the 8K race in 24:09, good for 33rd place. He was the top Chippewa runner. CMU is ranked sixth nationally in the MONDO Cross Country national rankings.
Davis sports a 3.26 grade point average with an education major.
"CMU Scholar-Athletes of the Week" must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average and they are selected based on their performance on the playing field the previous week.
