Chippewa Student-Athletes To Hold Food Drive On Halloween Night
Oct. 29, 2002
MOUNT PLEASANT - Student-athletes representing all Central Michigan University athletic teams will sponsor the 2002 Holiday Food Drive on Halloween night, Thursday, October 31. Student-athletes will be canvassing the Mount Pleasant community collecting canned and dry goods for the Isabella County Red Cross from 6:30 p.m., to 8:30 p.m., that evening. Instead of collecting candy, the student-athletes will be trick-or-treating for food.
The student-athletes will initially meet in the Indoor Athletic Complex Turf Bay on the CMU campus, and then be dispersed around the city. They will return to the Isabella County Red Cross between approximately 7:30 p.m., and 8:30 p.m., to unload their collections.
Last year's Holiday Food Drive was a huge success. Over 200 student-athletes collected over 5,400 food items to assist those less fortunate in the area. With the community's support, we hope we can collect 6,000 items this year!
On Halloween night from 6:30 p.m., to 8:30 p.m., CMU student-athletes will gently tap on your door and say, "trick-or-treat." When the student-athletes greet you, please be generous with your donation to the Isabella County Red Cross.
