Conway Tabbed Academic All-District

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Central Michigan University women's soccer defender Katie Conway (Saint Charles, Illinois/Jr.) has earned 2002 Verizon Academic All-District honors.
Conway has been a defensive mainstay for the Chippewas since showing up on the scene in 2000. She has been a starter all three seasons at CMU and finished the 2002 campaign with one assist. The lone assist was on the game-winning goal that helped the Chippewas top the best team in the Mid-American Conference.
Off the field, Conway has also shined in the classroom. The education/art major has a 3.88 cumulative grade-point average, and has been named to the Dean's List every semester. Conway posted a perfect 4.0 in the in the fall of 2001, and finished the spring semester with a 3.94. She has been named to the Mid-American Conference Academic Honor Roll every semester as well.
Conway is the first women's soccer player in the team's five-year history to be named to the academic all-district team.
