Three Chippewas garner Academic Honors

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Three Central Michigan University football players were named to the Verizon Academic All-District IV first team as voted upon by the College Sports Information Directors of America.
Those honored were Kyle Croskey (East Lansing), Rob Turner (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.), and Matt Wohlgemuth (Lake Orion).
Croskey, a 6-3, 330-pound senior offensive guard, majors in industrial education and carries a 3.62 grade-point-average.
Turner was a first team Academic All-American in 2001. The 6-3, 200-pound wide receiver carries a 3.96 GPA in business/management info. He leads CMU with 36 receptions for 407 yards.
Wohlgemuth is a 6-5, 265-pound defensive end with a 3.65 GPA in outdoor and environmental education. He's among the MAC leaders in tackles for loss (12 for 59 yards) and QB sacks (six for 54 yards).
All three will be on the 2002 Academic All-American ballot.
