Humphrey and McCrite Named CMU Scholar-Athletes of the Week

Central Michigan University has selected Luke Humphrey (cross country) and Ali McCrite (volleyball) as CMU Scholar-Athletes of the Week. Candidates for CMU Scholar-Athletes of the Week must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher and are selected based on athletic performance the previous week. Here are this week's honorees and their credentials:

Ali played in all three matches and led the team with 61 digs for the week, averaging 5.1 digs per game. She led the team with 13 digs against Oakland and 24 each against Ball State and Western. CMU clinched the West Division title with a 3-1 win over Ball State and secured a first-round bye in the Mid-American Conference Tournament.

Luke was all-region with a 12th-place finish at the NCAA Men's Cross Country Regional meet last weekend. He ran the 10k race in 30:51. Humphrey was among the top CMU runners who led the Chippewas to a fourth-place finish at the meet.
