Manning, Voorhees Named CMU Scholar-Athletes of the Week

Central Michigan University has selected Casey Manning (women's basketball) and Brandon Voorhees (men's basketball) as CMU Scholar-Athletes of the Week. Candidates for CMU Scholar-Athletes of the Week must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher and are selected based on athletic performance the previous week. Casey Manning led the team with 15 points in the loss at Oakland on Tuesday. She shot 4-for-15 from the floor and was almost perfect from the line, shooting 7-for-8. She also led the team with two steals at OU. Manning also had six rebounds in losing to Valparaiso.

Sophomore Brandon Voorhees averaged 11.0 points and 4.8 rebounds in CMU's four games last week. He scored in double figures twice, including a career-high 20 points in CMU's win over Marist. He was 7-for-9 from the floor in the game, including 4-for-5 from three point range. Voorhees shot 50 percent from three-point range on the week, hitting 9 of 18 attempts. He shot 45 percent from the floor for the week while starting all four games.
