Brad Wachler began his second stint with the CMU Athletics Department in the fall of 2008 and currently serves as Senior Associate Athletics Director for Administration and Internal Operations.
As part of the executive leadership team, Wachler is responsible for the overall management of the department's business and legal affairs, all capital projects, facilities management, game operations, sports medicine, equipment services, and the information technology program. In addition, he serves as the primary sport administrator for football, men's basketball, and baseball.
Wachler arrived at CMU after serving as Director of Operations and Assistant General Counsel with General Sports and Entertainment, a sports marketing and management firm based in Rochester, Michigan. In this role, Wachler oversaw the company's marketing, event management, and website design/development division along with all legal affairs for General Sports Venue/AstroTurf USA, a provider of synthetic turf for athletic fields. Prior to General Sports, Wachler worked for two years with the Mid-American Conference as the Director of Sport Administration and Compliance. His first stint with CMU Athletics began in 2004 as Assistant Director of Athletic Compliance.
Wachler graduated from Michigan in 1999 with a degree in exercise physiology and athletic training, earned a master's degree in sport administration from Indiana in 2000 and received a law degree from Wayne State in 2004.
Brad and his wife Melissa reside in Mt. Pleasant and have four children, Parker, Braiden, Arianna, and Ellia.
