Central Michigan University has a duty to comply with all NCAA and MAC rules applicable within the Athletic Department, as well as extending those responsibilities to entities outside of the Athletics Department. In addition to Chippewas coaches, staff, and student-athletes - CMU is responsible for the actions of its fans and boosters. Therefore, in an effort to cultivate a culture of compliance, specific information and resources have been provided for your review below. Additionally, we encourage you to visit the Chippewa Athletic Fund website for various rules and recommendations relating to the actions of Chippewas Fans & Boosters. Â
NCAA legislation defines a booster as a "representative of athletics interests," this includes Central Michigan University's students, employees, alumnus, donors, and ticket holders.Â
Furthermore, individuals participating in any of the following activities are considered a  representative of athletics interests  or a  booster :Â

- Engaged in (or been a member of) an agency or organization promoting CMU Athletics;
- Provided financial contributions to CMU Athletics or a booster organization;
- At the request of a CMU Athletics staff member, assisted in the recruitment of a prospective student-athlete; or
- Took part in promoting Central Michigan University's athletic program(s) (e.g., alumni, friends, parent/legal guardian to enrolled student-athlete, season ticket holder, etc.)
