Eligibility and Amateurism
Division I Eligibility Requirements
The links below contain all information regarding eligibility for prospective NCAA Division-I student-athletes. Prospects should register with the NCAA Eligibility Center at the completion of their junior year of high school. At that time, students should also request that their high school guidance counselor submit a copy of their transcripts (inclusive of grades from the first three years of high school) to the Eligibility Center.
SAT and ACT scores must be sent to the Eligibility Center directly from the testing agency. When registering to take the SAT or ACT exams, students may use the code 9999 to have test scores forwarded directly to the Eligibility Center.

Amateur Status
Prospective student-athletes enrolling for the first time at a Division-I institution must receive a final amateurism certification before being eligible to compete. This includes transfers from junior colleges, NAIA, international or Division III schools.
Eligibility status as an amateur is defined by a prospects entire athletic career, including the time spent prior to entering college. Amateur athletes participate in sports for reasons not directly related to financial gain. For more information on receiving final amateurism certification and examples of how a student-athlete's amateurism may be compromised, please follow the links below.
