Cody Torpey

Cody Torpey joined the Central Michigan Men’s Basketball staff in the fall of 2025 as the Assistant Video Coordinator on the inaugural staff under Head Coach Andy Bronkema.
Torpey was brought on after spending a season as an assistant men’s basketball coach for NJCAA Mid Michigan College, helping the Lakers to a 25-6 record in a role that had direct impact with the program and its players.
The Barryton, Mich.-native is a two-time graduate of Central Michigan University. He graduated cum laude in 2023 with bachelor of science in biology, then completed a master of business administration in a year’s time.
He was already active on the mid-Michigan coaching scene while he attended CMU. He spent a year working closely with the Beal City Junior High School program after three seasons as a student manager at Mid Michigan early in his undergraduate tenure.
