Greg Hotchkiss is in his third year as Central Michigan University’s associate athletic director for communications. He began his duties on Oct. 20, 2022.
An East Lansing, Mich. native, Hotchkiss has 28 years of administrative, public relations, and communications experience after having worked at several of the nation's most prominent NCAA Division I athletic programs, including Pittsburgh (2002-15), Texas Tech (1997-99 and 2015-16), Florida (1996–97 and 2000–02), and Duke (1999–2000).
He most recently served as the associate athletic director for communications and public relations at Columbia from 2016-22, where he oversaw communications for the 31-sport Ivy League athletic department.
Before his stint in New York City, Hotchkiss worked as the associate athletics director for communications at Texas Tech and also spent 14 years as the director of athletic media relations at Pittsburgh. At Pitt, he oversaw the day-to-day operations of the Panthers' athletic communications office during its transition from the Big East Conference to the Atlantic Coast Conference. He also worked closely with the nationally prominent Pitt men's basketball program that captured five Big East championships and advanced to the NCAA Tournament 12 times, including four Sweet Sixteen and one NCAA Elite Eight appearance.
A 1996 graduate of Franklin (Ind.) College, Hotchkiss earned a bachelor of arts degree in journalism and played soccer for the Grizzlies. He served media relations internships with the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, University of Michigan, and Franklin College sports information department. He earned a national Pulliam Journalism Scholarship.
Hotchkiss and his wife Stacey Brann-Hotchkiss, a former sports communications professional, sports administrator (Rutgers, Richmond, LIU, Pittsburgh) and television sports personality in Virginia, have one daughter Lilly.
