Jeffrey Freiberg is in his first year as an Associate Athletic Trainer and men's basketball trainer at Central Michigan.

Freiberg joins the Chippewas after spending the last two years at Troy University in Troy, Ala. while serving as assistant athletic trainer covering both men's basketball and cheerleading. As part of his duties, he implemented injury prevention programs, analyzed Kinexon workload, and collaborated with ATCs, physicians, fellows, physical therapists, and coaches in providing the highest-quality health care. He was part of a men's basketball staff that won back-to-back Sun Belt Championships and NCAA Tournament appearances from 2024-26.

Prior to Troy, Freiberg served as an assistant athletic trainer at Eastern Illinois in Charleston, Ill., where he worked as the men's basketball, men's/women's soccer, and cheerleading trainer. He also previously gained experience through two internships which he served with the Texas A&M men's basketball program (2023) and Arizona football program (2022).

Freiberg earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in athletic training from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa in 2021. He went on to earn a Master of Science degree in athletic training from Aurora University (Ill.) in 2023.
