Jenna Allen enters her fourth season on the bench for Central Michigan Women’s Basketball in 2026-27, part of the inaugural 2023-24 staff under Head Coach Kristin Haynie.
In her first three seasons, she aided Haynie’s Chippewas in their rebuilding efforts, improving from 6-22 (4-14 MAC) in 2023-24 to 18-12 (12-6 MAC) in 2025-26, marking the program’s first two MAC Championship tournament berths since 2021.
Allen had a direct hand in CMU’s dominance in the league in rebounding from 2024-26 as she coached standout forward Ayanna-Sarai Darrington to become one of the best offensive rebounders in NCAA I, leading the MAC in both her freshman and sophomore seasons.
Since her arrival, the Chippewas have overcome a 34-game road winless streak that began in the 2021-22 season, returned to the MAC tournament in 2025 after a three-year drought, earned a MAC Freshman (2025) and Player of the Year (2026) through Madi Morson and defeated a power-conference opponent for the first time since 2018 (Nov. 30, 2025 vs. Purdue).
Allen joined the Central Michigan Women’s Basketball Coaching Staff in May 2023 for the first season of Coach Haynie’s second tenure in Mt. Pleasant, as she was an assistant for the program from 2014-17. Allen works closely with the Chippewas’ post players while being tasked as the team’s liaison to strength & conditioning and athletic training.
Allen logged a four-year professional career for Baxi Ferrol in Spain prior to her hire with the Chippewas. Throughout her career overseas she averaged double-digit points and five-plus rebounds per game while shooting well over 50 percent from the field. Her well-decorated 2022-23 campaign saw a career-high 12.6 points per contest on 51.5 percent shooting, culminating in being named the All-Spanish LF Challenge Player, Center and Import Player of the Year on top of the 2023 regular season championship.
Allen, a four-year contributor on the court at Michigan State, became the Spartans’ 23rd 1,000-point scorer on March 3, 2019 at Minnesota. Over her final two seasons in East Lansing she started 57 games over 65 appearances including all 33 contests of her senior campaign. For her career, the Bedford, Ind.-native averaged 8.6 points on 50.4 percent shooting from the floor, 4.5 rebounds and 20.3 minutes per game; as a senior her line was 12.5 ppg on 49.8 percent shooting and 6.5 rpg over an average of 27.3 mpg.
The North Lawrence High School graduate, Allen earned a Bachelor’s in Kinesiology from Michigan State in 2019.
