Kelly Murphy was named as Central Michigan Athletics’ Faculty Athletics Representative in November, 2023.

In her role, Murphy serves as a liaison between the university and the athletics department along with representing the university in Mid-American Conference and NCAA affairs.

Murphy joined CMU in 2013 and serves as a professor in the Department of Philosophy, Anthropology and Religion. She has earned several CMU teaching awards, is a published author, and has served as an editor on several books and articles.

Murphy holds a doctorate from Emory, master’s degrees from Oxford Center for Hebrew and Jewish Studies and from Chicago Divinity School, and a bachelor’s degree from Mary Washington College, and served as a teaching fellow at Augustana College.
