Nathan Arbaugh begins his tenure as a graduate assistant in Central Michigan Athletics’ Multimedia office in July 2026. His primary responsibilities include McGuirk Arena’s in-house audio production, play-by-play commentary for various Chippewa Athletics events on ESPN+ for men’s and women’s basketball, volleyball, wrestling, and gymnastics, as well as assisting with creative content and mentorship of student multimedia staff.

He is also a member of the VanWagner Chippewa Sports Network radio broadcast crew, contributing as a play-by-play broadcaster, color commentator, host and/or engineer for football and men’s basketball broadcasts throughout the academic year.

Arbaugh remains as co-Sports Director for the University’s student-run radio stations, WMHW 91.5 FM and 101.1 FM, a post he first took as an undergraduate. The role includes equipment management and board operations, student broadcaster recruitment and oversight for coverage of men’s and women’s basketball, baseball and softball.

The Jenison, Mich.-native graduated from CMU in 2026 with a bachelor’s degree in broadcast and cinematic arts and a double minor in sport management and journalism.

Arbaugh worked in various roles as an undergraduate student at Central Michigan: as a member of the VanWagner broadcast team, calling games on ESPN+ and on Chippewas All-Access for CMU Athletics events on campus including basketball, baseball, soccer and field hockey. In his final two years, he also was the producer of the on-campus MHTV show, Sports Central, where he managed production, editing, and creative work around the show.

Outside of Central Michigan, Arbaugh has served in a variety of internship roles, including as a broadcaster for the Bowling Green Hot Rods—the High-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays—and in the Northwoods League as the play-by-play broadcaster for the Bismarck Larks.
