Central Michigan graduate and mid-Michigan native Pete Maniez began his duties as General Manager for Central Michigan Athletic Sponsorships in May 2025. His main responsibilities are to sell CMU Athletics sponsorships and represent Van Wagner in Mount Pleasant.

Maniez joins the Central Michigan athletic department from Michigan State, where he worked three years (2022-25) as a sales account executive for Playfly Sports Properties.

He also served as the Director of Athletics Marketing at Penn State for nearly three years from 2019-22.

Maniez is no stranger to Central Michigan as he previously served in the Chippewas' athletic department for five years in several different capacities. He was CMU's Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing and Fan Engagement from 2018-19, Director of Athletics Marketing (2017-18), Assistant Director of Marketing and Fan Engagement (2015-17), Graduate Assistant for Athletic Ticketing and Marketing (2014-15).

A St. Johns, Mich. native, Maniez earned a bachelor's degree in Recreation Parks, and Leisure Services Administration, Commercial Recreation and Facility Management from Central Michigan University in 2013. He went on to earn an MBA in Marketing from CMU in 2018.

As a student at Central Michigan, Maniez worked as a Football Video Operations Student Assistant (2010-13) and Ticket Sales Assistant (2013-14),
