Anderson joined the Central Michigan Cross Country/Track & Field program in the summer of 2025 after three seasons at the University of Cincinnati and will take on an active role with the distance/mid-distance group.
The Bearcats logged a wealth of success in its distance unit during Anderson’s tenure as school records were broken in 10 different events across cross country, indoor and outdoor track & field, including the American Athletic Conference record in the indoor DMR. Most recently, Anderson’s training led to UC cross country’s best individual finish in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional, with Claire Curtsinger’s 13th-place performance in 2024.
Anderson began her coaching career as an assistant in the University of North Carolina-Charlotte program for 2021-22, headlined by a Conference USA Championship in the men’s indoor season and a men’s cross country national qualifier in Paul Arredondo.
Between Cincinnati and Charlotte, Anderson spent the summer of 2022 as a volunteer assistant back home in Michigan at Michigan State University, where she had completed her master of arts in education, focused on sports coaching and leadership, in the summer of 2021.
Anderson spent two seasons as a Spartan, nabbing a NCAA All-American performance in the outdoor 1,500 meters in 2021, along with being named a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar.Â
The Grand Rapids, Mich.-native graduated from Western Michigan University in 2019 with a bachelor of science in exercise science. As a Bronco, she collected three Mid-American Conference Championships in the 800 meters (outdoor 2018, 2019; indoor 2019) along with a silver in the 2019 indoor mile and second-team All-MAC performances in the 2018 indoor DMR and outdoor 4x400 relay.
