Wes Fleming joined Matt Drinkall’s Central Michigan coaching staff in December, 2024, as the safeties coach. Fleming rejoins Drinkall as the duo has worked together on two different staffs at Army and Kansas Wesleyan.

Fleming served the last two seasons (2023 and 2024) as a quality control coach specializing in working with defensive backs at Cincinnati. He also worked in a similar role at Nebraska in 2022 after stints at Army, and NAIA schools Midland (Nebraska) and Kansas Wesleyan.

In 2021, Fleming was a member of the coaching staff with Drinkall at Army, helping the Black Knights to a nine-win season capped by a victory over Missouri in the Armed Forces Bowl.

Fleming served the 2019-20 campaign as the offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach at Midland (Nebraska). In 2019, the Fleming-led offense set program records for points (397), points per game (36.1) and passing touchdowns (31).

In 2018, Fleming served as the offensive coordinator/special teams coordinator under Drinkall at Kansas Wesleyan, helping lead the Coyotes to an undefeated season while setting program records for wins (13), total yards (6,935) and points (676). They finished the season as NAIA’s sixth-ranked team, 10 Coyotes earned all-conference honors, and Wesleyan swept the conference player of the year and offensive player of the year awards.

A Chicago Heights, Ill., native, Fleming graduated from St. Ambrose (Iowa) in 2015 and began his coaching career at the school shortly thereafter. He earned a master’s in business administration from Kansas Wesleyan in 2017.
