Andy Sneddon serves as Central Michigan Athletics' lead writer and editor-in-chief of the department's website, cmuchippewas.com. He is the sports communications contact for the CMU men's golf, women's golf, wrestling, and baseball programs.

Sneddon began at CMU in 2014 after some 25 years working as a sports writer/sports editor at the Petoskey News-Review, the Sault Ste. Marie Evening News, the Cheboygan Tribune and the Macomb Daily. He has worked as a freelance writer for several publications and wire services, including the Detroit Free Press, the Associated Press, the Traverse City Record-Eagle, MHSAA.com, and several other Michigan publications.

Sneddon has earned more than two dozen awards from the Associated Press for feature writing, columns, game stories and sustained coverage. In 2010, while on staff as sports editor, the Petoskey News-Review was named Newspaper of the Year by the Michigan Press Association.

A Ferndale native, Sneddon holds a bachelor's degree with a major in journalism/communications, which he earned in 1990 from Oakland University.
