BASEBALL WINTER CLINICS
CLINIC SESSIONS
Pitching/Catching/Hitting/Advanced Skills Session - $60
(For ages 13-19) Saturday, February 17, 2001 Accelerated combination of pitching, catching and hitting advanced skills sessions.
Clinic Schedule:
9-10 a.m. - Clinic registration
10- a.m. - 1 p.m. - Clinic session
1-2 p.m. - Lunch (provided by clinic)
2-5 p.m. - Clinic session
5 p.m. - Clinic conclusion
Youth Skills Session - $40
(For ages 9-12) Sunday, February 18, 2001
- five learning stations: pitching, infield, outfield/catching, batting, hitting machines
- base-running and bunting instruction
- eight batting cages (you may bring you own bat - not required)
- 110 yard indoor turf bay
Clinic Schedule:
Noon-1 p.m. - Clinic registration
1-4:30 p.m. - Clinic session
4:30 p.m. - Clinic conclusion

- Coached Ferris State University
- Bulldogs to seven Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference titles in 11 years
- GLIAC "Coach of the Year" seven times
Steve Jaksa, CMU Assistant Coach/Recruiting Coordinator
- CMU pitching staff finished first and second in team ERA last 2 years in MAC and was ranked 17th in the country in 1999
- Served 11 years as head baseball coach at Saginaw Nouvel Catholic Central High, winning state titles in 1990 and 1997
- Lefthand pitcher for the Chippewas 1977-79
David Grewe III, CMU Assistant Baseball/Hitting Instructor
- Served as Recruiting Coordinator/Hitting Instruction at the University of Chicago
- Played first base and third base for the University of Dayton from 1995 to 1998. Completed collegiate career with a .324 batting average.
Kevin Smoot
- Lefthanded pitcher for CMU 97-99
- First base coach/outfield coach
Jason Ball
- Assists CMU pitchers
- Lefthanded pitcher at St. Clair County Community College 1997-98
CLINIC COST
Cost for the Youth Skills Session is $40, all other sessions are $60 per session or $55 per session when you enroll in more than one. Lunch is provided for all clinic participants except the Youth Skills Session.
GROUP DISCOUNT
When six or more from the same school or team enroll together, clinic cost is $55/player per session or $100/player if attending two sessions. Youth Skills Session cost is $35/player in groups of six or more.
FACILITIES
All sessions will be held at CMU's new Indoor Athletic Complex. The complex features a 110-yard turf bay with eight batting cages, indoor pitching mounds, a 200-meter track bay and a 7,500-square-foot strength and conditioning center. The IAC is located next to the Kelly Shorts Football Stadium.
