MOUNT PLEASANT - The Central Michigan University women's soccer team (6-2-1 overall, 1-0 Mid-American Conference) opened the conference season with a 3-0 win over Miami (7-1 overall, 0-1 Mid-American Conference) on Friday afternoon. The loss was Miami's first on the year.

CMU got goals from Jennifer Williamson (Midland/Fr.), Emilie VilleMonte (Farmington Hills/Fr.) and Anne Fedrigo (Livonia/So.) en route to the victory. Goalies Elizabeth Quiney (Milford/So.) and Aryn McCumber (Rochester Hills/Fr.) teamed up for the shutout. Quiney made three saves while McCumber had four.

CMU travels to Ball State on Sept. 26.
