Chippewas Fall To NIU In OT

LIBERTYVILLE, IL - The Central Michigan University women's soccer team (9-3-1 overall, 4-1 Mid-American Conference) dropped its first conference game to Northern Illinois University (3-9 overall, 3-3 Mid-American Conference) by a 1-0 count on Friday night in Libertyville, IL.

After a scoreless 90 minutes, Northern Illinois got the winning goal in overtime from Erica Hofferkamp at 97:26. Despite outshooting NIU, 27-9, the Chippewas couldn't connect. CMU goalie Elizabeth Quiney (Milford/So.) played the entire game and made two saves.

The loss snaps CMU's five-game winning streak.

The Chippewas travel to Western Michigan on Oct. 10.
