The Central Michigan University field hockey team (2-11 overall, 2-4 Mid-American Conference) fell by a 4-1 count to Kent State University on Friday afternoon.
Kent scored two goals in the first half and two in second half to take a 4-0 lead. CMU got on the board with 2:57 remaining on a goal by Meg Lewis (Pittsford, NY/Fr.) to make it 4-1. The goal with Lewis' first career marker.
Goalie Janel Spero (Shoreham, NY/Fr.) started the game and made eight saves and gave up four goals and Malia Swieconek (Annapolis, MD/So.) played the last 14:59 and made one save.
CMU travels to Ohio on Oct. 16.
