CMU Loses To Ohio In OT

The Central Michigan University field hockey team (2-12 overall, 2-5 Mid-American Conference) fell in overtime to Ohio University by a 2-1 margin on Saturday afternoon.
Ohio's Ali Johnstone scored with 32:37 left in the first half to give the Bobcats the 1-0 advantage. The Bobcats held the 1-0 lead until CMU's Crystal Smith (Lancaster, NY/Sr.) scored with just 1:21 left in the game to tie it up at 1-1. Jenn Watt gave Ohio the 2-1 win with the winning goal with 10:25 left in overtime.
Goalie Janel Spero (Shoreham, NY/Fr.) made 19 saves and gave up two goals. Ohio outshot the Chippewas, 40-12.
CMU hosts Ball State on Oct. 23.
