Baseball Comes From Behind To Beat Xavier

JACKSONVILLE, FL -- The Central Michigan University baseball team (2-1 overall) came from behind for a 9-8 win over Xavier University on Saturday afternoon.
The Musketeers led 8-5 going into the bottom of the eighth inning when the Chippewas scored three runs to tie it up at 8-8. CMU got the win in the bottom of the ninth when Kevin Uzarski (Taylor/Sr.) hit a single with two outs to score Mike Meinhart (Temperance/So.) to give the Chippewas the 9-8 victory.
Pitcher Ryan Krueger (Alpena/Fr.) picked up his first career win in relief. He went 1 1/3 innings and gave up just one hit and no runs.
Mattt Crowley (Grand Rapids/Jr.), Scott Pieratt (Mount Pleasant/Sr.) and Jake Sanborn (Grand Ledge/Sr.) all went three-for-five to lead the Chippewas.
Central takes on Akron on Sunday at the University of North Florida at 5 p.m.
