Women's Track Takes Second at Purdue

WEST LAFAYETTE, IN--The Central Michigan University women's track team took second place at the USTCA Pent held at Purdue University on Saturday afternoon.
Ball State won the meet with 225 points and was followed by CMU (211 1/2), Penn State (206), Purdue (195) and Michigan (129 1/2).
Leading the Chippewas was junior Kari Karhoff (Durand) and senior Andrea Baker (Ft. Wayne, IN). Karhoff took top honors in the 400m hurdles in a time of 1:00.74 while Baker won the 100m hurdles in a time of 13.94.
Other top performances were turned in by: Suzy Bozin (Washington/So.) who took second in the high jump (5-6), Maria Derezinski (Muskegon/So.) second in the long jump (18-10 3/4), Melissa Brousseau (Alpena/Jr.) second in the shot put (42-11 3/4), Jen Brown (Laingsburg/Sr.) seocnd in the jammer (171-6), Andrea Pullen (Grandville/Sr.) third in the 1,500m (4:38.48) and Jillian Hinds (Traverse City/Fr.) third in the pole vault (9-11 3/4).
The Chippewas travel to the Sea Ray Relays on April 12-15 at Knoxville, TN.
