MOUNT PLEASANT -- Central Michigan had four players earn All-Mid-American Conference honors this season, including two first team selections.
Central's top two point producers, forwards Melissa Lazarevski (Rochester, N.Y./Sr.) and Krystal Yee (Victoria, British Columbia/So.), were both named to the first team.
Lazarevski is a repeat first team honoree after earning second team honors as a sophomore and first team laurels last season. She led CMU this season with team-highs of seven goals, six assists and 19 points.
Yee was the second-leading scorer with six goals, two assists and 14 points.
Twin sisters Janel Spero (Shoreham, N.Y./Jr.) and Jeanette Spero (Shoreham, N.Y./Jr.) were both second team selections. Janel, CMU's goalkeeper, started all 18 games. Jeanette, a defensive back, had two assists while leading the Chippewa defense.
The Chippewas were 7-11 this season and 4-6 in MAC play. Central's season came to an end on Nov. 2 with a 1-0 loss to Ball State in the MAC tournament.
Ohio's Ali Johnstone was named the MAC "Player of the Year" and Louisville's Kim Hughes was the "Freshman of the Year." Louisville's Pam Bustin took home "Coach of the Year" honors.
